What are they?Custom orthotics are a medical device built from a precise model of the individual’s foot to alter the function of the foot. Since most foot pain arises from “faulty” biomechanics, orthotics can be a very powerful, and simple way to address these faulty mechanics and improve pain and function.

How long do they last? Depends on the patient entirely, typically 3-5 years before a refurbish or replacement.

How long does it take? Following a biomechanical assessment and gait exam, a custom 3D scan will be taken by the doctor which is painless, and takes about 1-2 minutes.

Will they fit in any shoe? Custom orthotics can be designed to fit into most shoes, including men and women’s dress shoes. In my experience, they tend to do best in a sneaker due to the room available but can be made slimmer with a lower profile to fit in most shoes.

What if I don’t like them? Most patients will require about 1-3 months to fully adjust and break in their orthotics. Adjustments can be made at no cost to you during this period as needed. If after 3 months you are not happy with the orthotic devices, you will be refunded.

What do they cost? $500. These are typically HSA/FSA eligible.
